Our design for Preston Youth Zone has been granted planning consent. The project will transform a city centre site facing Preston Bus Station – earlier refurbished by our practice and opened to the public in 2018. The Youth Zone, which has been designed to be a recognisable landmark for young people, relates architecturally to its Modernist neighbour and opens onto the new public space created as part of our masterplan for the area. The building will be a vital community asset, providing a positive and accessible environment where young people can participate in a variety of engaging activities. Construction is expected to start later in the year, with an anticipated opening in spring 2025.
