Our design for Darwen Youth Centre has received Planning Consent. The project aims to broaden youth provision for the town with a building that young people of the area can identify with and find welcoming.

The copper-clad volume is articulated as a series of pitched roofs, making a picturesque silhouette when viewed from above the steeply sloping site and echoing the materiality of the Library Theatre dome opposite. A cross-laminate timber structure will reduce the building’s embodied carbon, while enhancements to the landscape will increase biodiversity on the site.
