Darwen Town & Market Hall
2024 – Ongoing
Regenerating the civic core of an historic market town.
As lifestyles have become more isolated with changes in technology and work patterns, civic spaces and buildings are more important than ever. Whether town halls, city chambers, libraries or community hubs, civic buildings provide a place of identity and collective pride. Design can open-up existing buildings to welcome the public in, overcoming physical and perceived barriers – while external civic spaces of all scales can be enlivened with new structures, seating, planting and lighting.
