Horizon Youth Zone
2019 – 2025
Revitalising industrial heritage as a centre for young people.
Sports buildings are places where people come together, engage in physical activities, watch and play. Critical to growing healthy communities, they should be open, inclusive and welcoming to people of all abilities – avoiding the ‘black box’ nature of many leisure facilities in the past. An offering of internal and external sporting facilities helps blend a sporting building with the public realm, while including community spaces encourages use across generations.
